Follett shelf


  • Follett Shelf allows students and teachers to check out and read eBooks on their iPads or other devices.  
  • eBooks can be read online through a web browser using Follett Shelf and offline by downloading the book using the Follett BryteWave K-12 Edition app available in the App store here.
  • Depending on user preference, directions for using Follett Shelf are provided in written format on the left and in a video tutorial format on the right.

step 1:  log into destiny

  • Go to http://lib.misd.net
  • Tap on Fraser Public School Libraries
  • Select YOUR school
  • Tap on Login in the upper right corner and type in your User Name and password
          Username = firstname.lastname + graduation year  (john.doe20)  
         
Password = fraser
  • Tap on Login




Step 2:  Checking out an ebook from  Follett shelf

  • Tap on the Catalog tab
  • Tap on Follett Shelf.  A new Follett Shelf tab will open up.
  • Browse the eBook selection and/or type in the name of the book you are looking for
  • Tap on the cover image of the book
  • Tap on the i icon in the bottom right corner
  • Tap on Checkout/Hold

Note:  Checking the book out here allows you to read the eBook online only.

step 3:  downloading your ebook using the brytewave k-12 app

  • If you haven't done so already, download the Follett Brytewave K-12 Edition app here.
  • Type in the username and password you used in step one.
  • Type in your FollettShelf URL.  Not sure of your Follett Shelf URL?  Please see below.
  • Tap on Stay logged in and Login.
  • You should see the book you checked out.  Tap on Open Book.
  • Don't see the book you checked out?  Tap on the Synchronize Checkouts icon (the orange circle with the two arrows) located in the upper right corner.
  • Tap on Download title.

Note:  Once your eBook is downloaded to your device, you will be able to read your book even when a wi-fi connection is not available.

step 5:  returning your ebook

  • Open the Follett BryteWave K-12 Edition app
  • Tap on the Menu icon in the upper right corner.
  • Tap on My eCheckouts
  • Tap on Return Early and then on Return Title.

Note:  eBooks checked out through Follett Shelf have a two week loan period.  If an eBook is not returned early, it will disappear from a device when the load period is up. 


If you personally own a device and can download the Follett BryteWave 
K-12 Edition app to that device, you are welcome and encouraged to 
continue to check out and read eBooks throughout the summer.  Enjoy!
